Our Practice Philosophy

Our Hope Veterinary Clinic practice philosophy is "To Strive to provide the best medical and surgical care for our patients. To communicate, to educate, and above all to care for our clients. To offer our professional best to each patient and client that we assist."

Because we care for your pet we recommend the following:

Annual comprehensive physical exam, including wellness blood testing . Wellness testing has proven to alert us to potential problems in one out of every four pets, by doing a simple blood test that helps in the diagnosis of internal organ functions. Recommended for healthy pets and geriatric pets. A fecal test twice yearly is recommended to alert us to any potential parasites that can be harmful to you and your pet. Studies show that annual testing is needed for heartworm disease , because the compliance rate is very low. Even though you may give your preventative monthly, the pet may fail to swallow it, or vomit while you are not around. Routine vaccinations will include rabies, which is required by state law; plus innoculations against other easily transmitted diseases such as parvo. We believe year-around heartworm prevention and internal parasite control would be best for your pet, even if they are indoors only. Your pet needs six to nine months of flea and tick prevention. Fleas can transmit diseases to both your pet and you,and ticks can transmit diseases such as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Our doctors will counsel you on the right nutrition for your pet. As in people, nutritional needs change as the pet ages , or problems arise.
